Maintaining lawns in regions like New England requires significant resources such as mowing, irrigation, fertilizer, and pesticides. Discover the reasons behind the movement to "kill your lawn" and learn how to replace it with aesthetically pleasing and eco-friendly gardens. Transitioning your yard to incorporate native plants in place of lawns or within existing gardens can help mitigate issues like floods, heat waves, sea-level rise, and the alarming rate of species extinction. Join us for a free Zoom session led by Mark Richardson, Director of Horticulture at the New England Botanic Garden at Tower Hill, where he will delve into these topics.
