South Station
If you arrive to Explore Boston by bus or train, you will likely debark at South Station. Built in 1899, the iconic structure was created to serve as the hub to several rail lines owned by different companies. Now, it is the second-largest transportation hub serving Boston with platforms for Amtrak, the MBTA, Acela, and regional bus lines. A few shops and fast-food restaurants are situated in the open terminal space, providing convenient options for commuters and travelers. Connections to Logan International Airport and taxis and rideshares are also available.
