City Hall

Located in Government Center, City Hall is home to Boston's government. Built in 1968, it houses the office of the Mayor of Boston as well as Boston City Council. An example of Brutalist architect, it was designed by Columbia professor, Gerhard Kallmann, and Columbia graduate student, Michael McKinnell. The building's unique design has both been criticized and praised.
