Public Stars Observatory Night at the Harvard College Observatory

This event is being sponsored by the Harvard College Observatory (HCO). HCO sponsors various free programs for the public, and this event is one of them. The event is called Observatory Nights and is typically held on the last Thursday of select months, but it may be subject to change.

Observatory Nights consist of two 15-minute non-technical lectures, and if the weather permits, telescopic observing from the observatory roof. The lectures are intended for high school aged and older audiences, but children are welcome too. Admission is free, however, tickets are limited, and seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.

The event will be held at the Phillips Auditorium, which is located at the rear of the HCO complex, near Madison Street and the large parking lot. The address is 60 Garden Street, Cambridge, which is approximately one mile west of Harvard Square. Parking lots marked for Observatory Staff are open to the public on event nights, and parking is free.
