Get Ready for the Celtics' Championship Parade on Friday: What You Need to Know

When Will the Celtics' NBA Championship Parade Be Held?

Get ready, Celtics fans! It's time to clear your schedules and plan to take Friday off. Mayor Michelle Wu’s office confirmed that the NBA championship parade for the Boston Celtics will be held on Friday at 11 a.m.

Parade Route and Details

The parade will kick off in front of TD Garden on Causeway Street, travel past City Hall Plaza and the Boston Common on Tremont Street, and conclude on Boylston Street by the Hynes Convention Center. Be sure to check the latest updates for any changes or additional details.

Weather and Timing

Friday's temperatures are expected to cool slightly after a hot week, making it a perfect day for a celebration. Fans can expect the iconic duck boats to start their journey around 11 a.m., a familiar start time for Boston's championship parades.

How Many Duck Boats Will Be Involved?

Cindy Brown, CEO of Boston Duck Tours, mentioned that the company plans to deploy between 18 and 25 vehicles to transport Celtics players, coaches, staffers, and Green legends through the crowds. The parade route winds from TD Garden to the Hynes Convention Center.

Preparations and Logistics

Boston Police, State Police, and officers from nearby towns will be on duty to ensure the celebration is safe and enjoyable. Boston Duck Tours will operate their usual schedule until the day before the parade, after which they'll prepare the boats by removing seats on the top deck and installing platforms for the celebrants.

While Boston Duck Tours won't receive payment for the use of its boats, nor will they charge the city or the team, they will have to cancel pre-booked tours on the day of the parade, resulting in significant revenue loss. However, Cindy Brown emphasized the value of being part of such an important event for the city. "Obviously the marketing opportunity and the pure joy for our staff to be involved in something so important to the city is worth it," Brown said.

So, Celtics fans, get ready to celebrate in style and show your support for our champions!
