Two of the city’s premier art institutions, the Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) and the Institute of Contemporary Art (ICA), are offering free admission on this special day. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Special Bonus: Visitors who snag free tickets will also get access to the MFA’s captivating Hokusai exhibit, titled “Hokusai: Inspiration and Influence.” Normally, this exhibit carries a $7 surcharge, but on Memorial Day, it’s included for free.

  • Registration: Unlike the MFA, the ICA allows visitors to reserve free passes ahead of time. Registration opens on Sunday at 10 a.m. via the ICA website.

  • Featured Exhibition: Don’t miss “María Berrío: The Children’s Crusade.” Colombian artist María Berrío delves into the history of the 1212 Christian conversion efforts through a contemporary lens. Her thought-provoking artwork invites reflection on our current sociopolitical climate.
